GRAND TRAVERSE COUNTY, Mich.– Authorities said an 82-year-old woman hit a parked car then flipped her own vehicle after swerving to avoid hitting a squirrel.
It happened on Washington Street in Traverse City Sunday evening.
Traverse City Police said the driver was able to get out of the car thanks to the assistance of a witness who heard the crash.
She was given a citation for driving without due care and caution, officials said. (Traverse City Police Department)
The woman refused to be taken to Munson Medical Center, authorities said, but she was evaluated by members of the Traverse City Fire Department who determined she only had minor scrapes and bruises.
