WATCH: Wild Video Shows Officers Putting an End To Jail Riot

SANDOVAL COUNTY, N.M. —

A riot inside a New Mexico detention center was captured on video.

Members of the tactical support unit were called into the Sandoval County Detention Center in January when corrections officers couldn’t get nine inmates to go back in their cells.

A court document says that one-by-one, each inmate took their shirt off and wrapped it around their face. The guards left the room, never turning their backs on the inmates.

When the specialized team got there, there was a battle at a small opening in the door.

Inmates shoved through blankets and powder and officers tried to push in the barrel of the gun that fires a flash-bang device.
