ROANOKE, Va (WSET) — A local man said he got a rude awakening last week when he discovered an intruder in his house.
“I was in here on the bed on my phone. My aunt lives upstairs, my grandma has a key,” said Zach McGuire. McGuire said he heard a noise when a stranger entered his home, but he thought it was just a family member.
A Roanoke man says he got a rude awakening when he discovered an intruder in his home last Wednesday, making themselves at home in the kitchen. He didn’t think too much of the talking he heard coming from the kitchen.
“I started hearing the same voice. I was like, “Somebody’s in there talking to themselves,” he said.
Then, he realized he didn’t recognize her voice. It was a complete stranger.
“I came flying out here into the kitchen, and she’s standing right there in front of the microwave, getting ready to nuke my butter. And I told her she ‘butter’ not.”

“It startled her a lot more than it did me,” he said. “And she didn’t really have a good reaction to it. She just sat down and started crying on the floor.”
His Facebook post was shared hundreds of times. One photo shows her sitting on the floor before officers arrived, and another one was taken after she was handcuffed. We are waiting for info from police before releasing the suspect’s identity.
