An NYPD patrol car slammed into a cyclist and sent him flying while officers were speeding off to the scene of a reported assault in Brooklyn. The police officers were driving with the flashing lights and sirens on when the car bulldozed a cyclist in East Williamsburg.
The shocking crash, which appears to have been captured on video online, sent the cyclist several feet into the air before he was taken to the hospital.
Police were driving southbound on Morgan Avenue near Stagg Street and said the cyclist was going ‘against traffic’ when he was struck.
In the video footage, the cyclist can be seen going the wrong way on Stagg Street before starting to make a turn onto the northbound lane of Morgan Avenue.
