Tripp Shaw was rushed to a hospital in Indianapolis
An Indiana man was “play wrestling” with his 4-year-old son Thursday when a handgun went off and shot the boy in the head, People reports. Police say the gun, a Glock semi-automatic, was tucked in dad’s pants.
Tyler Shaw and son Tripp were rushed to hospitals in and around Indianapolis with head wounds, but while Tyler is recovering, Tripp “passed away peacefully, surrounded by those who loved him most,” says a GoFundMe page established for the family. The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office is investigating, but no criminal charges have been filed. The Indy Star notes that state law could make felony criminal recklessness an option for prosecutors.
